Mexico Elementary School, home of the Tiger Cubs, is located in the village of Mexico at 26 Academy Street. Our building consists of over 300 students in grades Pre-K through 4th. In addition, over 60 dedicated staff members strive to create the best learning environment possible for our students.
Mexico Elementary School is one of three elementary schools within the Mexico Academy and Central School District. Our district maintains a strong commitment to the educational process by providing our teachers many opportunities to learn and hone their skills. Our reflective staff strives to provide instruction using research-based techniques and high quality teaching materials. Because our belief that everyone at school is a learner, we build in time as a building and a district to attend professional development offerings and engage in dialogue with our colleagues in order to refine our teaching practices.
Our character education focus are The Six Pillars of Character. We encourage parents to support our character education program by following the T.E.A.M approach: teach, enforce, advocate, and model The Six Pillars. The following are The Six Pillars: Respect (September/October), Caring (November/December), Responsibility (January/February), Trustworthiness (March/April), Fairness (May/June), and Citizenship (all school year). We meet as a community the last Wednesday of each month at our Tiger Cub Midweek Meeting to celebrate our character education successes.
