The PSAT/NMSQT

October 20th!! 

 

Location:  Mexico High School at 8:00 AM (Saturday)

REGISTRATION FEE:           $14.50   (Make checks payable to:  Mexico Central School District)

LENGTH OF TEST:              Approximately 3 hours including instruction time.

 

PURPOSE OF TEST:              1. To assess critical reading, math, and writing skills for college level work.

                                                2. To take an entry level step for scholarship programs administered by the

                                                    National Merit Scholarship Organization. (Juniors)

3. To experience in a shorter form the College Board Scholarship Assessment

    Test (SAT).

4. To indicate to colleges that you would like information about programs, activities,

    and financial aid.

5. To help identify areas of strength and weakness in relation to preparing for the    

    SAT.

 

RESULTS:                               By mid-December, PSAT / NMSQT scores will be mailed to the school.

Students receive a Critical Reading, Math, and Writing Skills score and a Selection Index Score which will be used to identify Junior level participants as Merit Semi-Finalists in scholarship competition and Merit Commend Students.
