English/Language Arts Academic Intervention Services |
My current ELA AIS classes are for students in grades 5, 6, and 8.
Students qualify for ELA AIS when they are not successful on the NYS English/Language Arts exam. Students may also be recommended by teachers, or may exhibit areas of ELA weakness that cannot be sufficiently addressed in the regular classroom.
Reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills are covered, with an emphasis on individualizing instruction for each student.
When students demonstrate mastery of their particular areas of need, they may be released from the ELA AIS class.
